Waitlist and Alpha signups
The waitlist collects an adult email address and, if provided, an adult first name. The Alpha application collects an adult name and email, the age of the child who may test with that adult, device types, realistic testing frequency, and optional context about the adult’s interest in testing.
How signup information is used
Signup information is used to manage the waitlist, review Alpha applications, contact selected Alpha families, and send the Bright Minutes messages the adult agreed to receive. Signup information is sent through our server to Loops, our email and audience service provider; the Loops API key is not exposed to the browser.
Child privacy
The public signup forms do not ask for a child’s name, exact birthday, school, photograph, street address, gender, or public learner profile. The Alpha form asks only for an age from 2–6 so we can assemble a useful testing group. Adult signup information is kept separate from child learning data.
Email choices
Messages sent through the waitlist or Alpha signup include the email subscription controls provided by our email service. Adults can use those controls to stop future messages.
Local website traces
The small color interaction on the homepage may store a color choice in your browser’s local storage so that choice can reappear later on the site. It is not tied to a child identity, account, advertising profile, or remote learner record. Clearing site data removes it.
Hosting and security
Hosting and security providers may process ordinary technical request information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as IP address, browser information, requested pages and timestamps.
